What is a Finnish kuntokartoitus?
Kuntokartoitus is a condition appraisal. Finnboat describes its appraisal as an expert opinion on a boat’s condition and seaworthiness with a written report, suitable for buying or selling. The exact scope and recipient requirements should still be agreed.
What information is needed for a Finnish survey quote?
Provide the exact harbour or storage yard, vessel details, material, purpose and date. Include winterisation, covers, launch and mast status, lift access, sea trial and required report language.
Can a boat be inspected during winter storage?
A survey may be possible ashore, but covers, snow, freezing conditions and disconnected systems can limit access and testing. Agree whether an afloat or commissioned follow-up is needed.
Can the report be in Finnish, Swedish or English?
Include the required language in the request. Confirm terminology, intended recipient, reliance rights and delivery deadline directly with the surveyor.
Is a pleasure-boat appraisal the same as an authorised ship survey?
No. A private condition appraisal is distinct from statutory or classification work. For formal ship certificates, confirm the authorised route and exact survey requirement before appointment.
